Brittany & Austin: A Carriage House Wedding Day

There are some love stories that take their time, building quietly, growing strong with each passing year, until the moment arrives when “forever” becomes reality. That is exactly what Brittany and Austin’s wedding day was: a celebration nine years in the making, overflowing with deep love, meaningful memories, and the kind of joy that only comes from two people who have truly grown up together.

On a gorgeous and hot August afternoon, Brittany and Austin said “I do” at 3:30 PM at The Carriage House in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Nestled in the quiet beauty of the East Tennessee mountains, this venue offered the perfect balance of intimacy and breathtaking scenery. With the sun beaming and summer in full bloom, the setting reflected the warmth of their relationship and the years they’ve spent building their lives together.

A Celebration of Love and Legacy

From the very first moment we arrived, there was something undeniably special in the air. Brittany had chosen a soft pink palette for her bridal party, a color that reflected her romantic and elegant style. Her bridesmaids wore beautiful pink gowns, while Austin’s groomsmen were dressed in rich brown suits paired with pink ties, creating a timeless yet personal look.

But it wasn’t just the aesthetic that stood out. The day was filled with sentimental details that made everyone pause and reflect — especially when it came to remembering those who were no longer physically present, but whose spirits were deeply felt.

One of the most touching moments came when Austin’s dad brought out a fully restored truck that had been a labor of love for years. It wasn’t just any truck. Austin’s late mother, Melissa, had helped choose so many of the design elements that brought it to life. Her presence was undeniable, and as a final surprise, Austin’s dad placed her old iPhone in the car. When Austin picked it up, her Apple ID popped up — a small but mighty reminder that she was still with them. I couldn’t hold back tears as I witnessed this sacred, beautiful moment.

A Mother’s Love, A Daughter’s Honor

On Brittany’s side, her late mother was honored just as meaningfully. Surrounded by loving friends and family, Brittany’s sweet stepmom helped her into her gown — a moment full of gratitude and intimacy. Brittany even gifted her stepmom a heartfelt present as a thank-you for loving her like her own. It was one of those rare moments where time seemed to slow, and the emotion in the room wrapped around everyone like a warm hug.

The Joy of Friendship and a Fun-Loving Bridal Party

Austin’s groomsmen were full of energy from the second we arrived — joking, laughing, and excited to celebrate their best friend’s big day. The girls were a photographer’s dream: ahead of schedule and soaking in the calm of the morning, allowing us to capture serene, joy-filled moments that truly told the story of Brittany’s heart.

And perhaps one of the most special moments of all came during the ceremony itself. I had the honor of taking on my role and the role of my role as second shooter, while my husband and partner in photography, Josh, stepped in as officiant. Being by Brittany and Austin’s side as they shared vows in front of their dearest people was a privilege we’ll never forget.

A Day to Remember at The Carriage House

The Carriage House venue created such a warm and peaceful atmosphere for the day. With its rustic elegance and beautiful natural surroundings, it served as the perfect backdrop for Brittany and Austin’s celebration. From first looks to family portraits, to sweet stolen glances between the new Mr. and Mrs., every photo tells a story of love, legacy, and promise.

We ended the day with delicious food, lively dancing, and a room full of people who have walked with this couple through the highs and lows of life and were now there to celebrate their future. The joy was contagious, and the love was absolutely undeniable.
