The Disney Experience {Sullins Style}

Well, here we go!  I know many of you have been waiting for this post and I am so sorry it took so long! Our Disney adventures started back in 2009.  We surprised our kids with their first trip by driving through the sign and we still video that moment each and every time, to this day!

I know you aren't here to hear all about our love for Disney, most of you already know that.  So let's get started with the here and now.

In 2017, we moved quickly from Alabama to Georgia. When we sold our house in three days we surprised our kids with a quick Disney trip.  While we were looking for tickets, Josh and I came across a blog about how to use Annual Passes so we researched more.  Come to find out, we may have been doing it the wrong way all along.  We talked with the kids and asked if annual passes would be a good idea.  Later that evening, they had a Sullins kid meeting and came back to us with "if you buy annual passes that can be our birthday and Christmas presents this year".  Josh and I wanted them too, so...we decided to do some research!

I'd love to say it was that easy, but we had to research this a lot to make sure we were getting the biggest bang for our buck.  Here is what we did.  We calculated by our last, large trip.  It was a 6-days in the park trip.  We had no park hoppers and we went to Magic Kingdom three times.  (Magic Kingdom tickets are more expensive than the other parks.)

Let's do the math ::

One day at Magic Kingdom (during peak season...when we are typically there) is $124 per ticket, per day.

One day at Epcot, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom (during peak) is $119.

You add the park hopper to those and the price goes to $174.

Now, the math...

The last time we went on a large trip, we went into Magic Kingdom three times for a total of $1860 (if we are looking at this without any perks or package discounts).

We were in the other parks the other three days for a total of $1785 (if we are looking at this without any perks or package discounts).

The total: $3645

Yep, we felt like we were on a roller coaster when we discovered our cost versus everything else.  Now remember, when you purchase more days worth of tickets, the prices of tickets do go down slightly.  It also goes down slightly when you do a special room and dining package, but the Sullins were more interested in going as much as humanly possible for the next we did the math to see how we would fair.

Plus, we really wanted to see these guys more often!

So, what is the cost of the annual pass?  We chose the Disney Platinum Pass.  We didn't want to be confined by black out dates and we wanted all of the perks that go along with the passes.  I'll tell you about perks in a minute.

The cost of the Platinum Pass is $779 per person, for our family it was a grand total of $3895.  We had not been to Disney for that amount in a few years, since the kids were under 9.  Here's the catch...we knew we couldn't stay at our favorite resort anymore (Port Orleans Riverside), but could possibly find great condo deals right outside the gate (AND WE HAVE!!!). You can find those here :: and  We have now stayed at Windsor Hills twice and we will be back there for the rest of the year.  Our normal nightly rate has been around $60-100 depending on the season and we also get a discount when we go back because we are returning guest.

So many perks already!  Our passes were official "paid for" on our 7th entrance to the parks.  Why? Because with the annual passes, you have many perks to add to this list!  Here are our favorites ::

  • We get digital files of ALL of our photo pass photographs taken in the park. I'm a photog so I know how expensive this is.
  • We can park hop to any and all parks all day long, as many times as we want.
  • We get free parking at all parks ($20 per park, per day savings)
  • No blackout dates.  We can go whenever we'd like.
  • We get discounts off most quick service restaurants (usually 10%) and some sit down dining (usually 10-20%).
  • We get a 20% discount on all merchandise in the parks.
  • You get Passholder seating for some shows, especially Disney On Broadway.
  • You get Fastpasses 30 days prior to going on your trip

and many other small perks along the way.

(Side note:: We don't use credit cards except for one.  We got the Disney credit card for Disney trips.  We buy everything on that card because we get double bonuses and we get Disney money back.  So, after we purchased our annual passes on our card, we actually got $100 back and used that on this last trip.  We also get other perks with the card like special meet and greets with characters.)

We've had many different Disney adventures in the many years we've been going.  I have to say, planning trips month by month has to be my favorite.

Dining at Disney is a favorite for the Sullins, so to keep that going we choose one sit down restaurant each trip and we pay for it.  We get a 10-20% discount and save a good bit.  As an example, we love Liberty Tree Tavern and we have chosen that restaurant the past two times.  The meal is $35 per person and the drink is included.  After our discount, it equals to $30 per person.  As you may know, Liberty tree is a family style restaurant so they will keep bringing you food until you say NO MORE!  We choose this style because we know everyone in our family is getting the best deal.  Ohana would be another perfect example of this style (and I'm sure it's on our agenda for April).

Georgia wedding photographer

I'm sure you are curious what we do for meals on the other days.  We have packed PB+J a few times, we eat at the Chick-fil-a right outside the gate OFTEN, and we also take a bag full of snacks.  We do eat a few quick service meals like Casey's Corner, Pecos Bill, and we ALWAYS go for snacks in Epcot around the worlds.  The biggest decision we made was to ask for Disney gift cards for Christmas and birthdays.  Rebeckah is actually stashing $300 worth in her Disney bag.  We know these are great for snacks and fun stuff.

Listen, we know this isn't for everyone!  We just decided to change our priorities last year.  We realized our two oldest will be off to college soon and we wanted adventure in the great, wide somewhere.  (Go ahead and click that know you wanna!)

That's it, y'all!  If you are really Disney crazed like the Sullins and live close enough to make it happen even 3-4 times in a year, the annual pass is completely worth it.  If you're really crazed...and plan to go once a month (like us), then you REALLY want to do it this way!  We spent a grand total of $321 out of pocket on our January trip minus the condo. It can be done!  It may look different, but hey...if you're at Disney who cares? I sure don't!

Some final tips from our Disney adventures:

  • Always turn left after you walk down Main Street in Magic Kingdom.  The crowd ALWAYS goes right!  Turn left and you will have lower wait times all morning until you hit the crowds.
  • Plan your dining experiences for 7:30-8:30. When you come out and you're ready to ride (especially at Magic Kingdom) most people have either left the park, lining up for the fireworks, or they're in dinner too.
  • ALWAYS keep hand sanitizer handy.  Too. Many. Germs.
  • Get creative with your picture taking.  Use your portrait mode on your phone and get a little fancy.
  • If you plan to ride water rides, keep a ziplock bag handy for your phone.
  • Planning to be in the parks half day or park hopping? Leave those bags in the car for a quicker entrance.  (We no longer carry backpacks into parks.)
  • Schedule those fast passes for the morning!  You get two additional passes once you've used your first three.
  • Book those dining reservations asap. They rarely have an opening if it's during peak seasons. (Trust's happened in front of my eyes!)
  • Always pack something for rain.  Pop up showers happen all of the time.  We like to dance in it, but some people don't, so prepare.
  • Talk to the characters.  They will play around and banter with you and have some fun!
  • If you don't have the photo pass/memory maker purchased, you can still let them take your photograph.  Just make sure you also hand them your phone or camera for a quick shot.
  • Our favorite snack location? Karamell Kuche in German (Epcot). You cannot go wrong!  Other favs, Macarons in France, Starbucks in any park, Mickey Ice Cream bar (you can never go wrong there), and Churros in Mexico and Pecos Bill in Magic Kingdom, and of course...the Dole Whip in Magic Kingdom!
  • If you choose to drive to the parks, make sure you write down or text your parking lot location (i.e. Jufar 323).  You will lose your car.  Trust me!  This has happened to us once and it was HILARIOUS!!!
  • Lastly!  Have FUN!  It really is the happiest place on earth!

Here's to making magical memories!

The Couples of Amy-Cole Weddings {2017}

This has been an incredibly crazy and fun year!  I started my year as a primary wedding and family photographer in Alabama and I'm ending it living in Atlanta, Georgia!  I absolutely adore my Alabama couples and plan to capture days in Alabama for many years to come!  Nobody can drag me away from sweet home Alabama!  Soon, I will share the story of how we came back home to Georgia.  I'm planning a series on some personal fun stuff from the Sullins life.  But for today, it's all about the couples and weddings of 2017.

Are you ready for it?! (Just imagine my home girl, T-Swift, singing that as you start your scroll!)

And don't you dare leave before you've looked at each gorgeous couple and the big announcement about next year's hashtag and new adventure at the very end!

Let's get it started in here (throwback to some Blackeyed Peas).

Miriam + Colby - 01.07.17

Georgia wedding photographer

We loved our snowy day with Colby and Miriam.  This was such a special event for our family.  Colby served as Josh's Worship Associate at West Rome Baptist when we were on staff.  He is like a brother to us and we were honored to be there to capture his day!  We got a little surprise as we started our drive to Clayton, Georgia!  Check out the white stuff!  They call that snow!

wedding day details

The purples were a perfect accent to the gorgeous snow outside the windows of the church!

groom photographer

This wedding party was amazing. It was cold, y'all!  Freezing, in fact!  The snow was icy and not one time did anyone complain about capturing the day outside as much as possible!  Colby was so excited to be marrying the girl of his dreams and Miriam could hardly wait to get down the aisle to him!

Their ceremony was exactly as it should be!  People risked the drive to get there because this was a day the two of them had been waiting for for a long time!  We loved watching Colby play the piano and sing as Miriam accompanied him on the violin!  Their love for music pulls on my heartstrings and I love watching them serve their Savior together!

Many laughs and so much love was shared on their snowy and icy wedding day! We sure do love you, Mr. and Mrs. Pendrey!!!  Happy almost 1-year anniversary!!!

Alicia + Derrick - 03.11.17

Alicia and Derrick had a gorgeous day at the Michael Wedding Barn in Anniston, Alabama!  It was a cold and rainy March day, but this didn't hinder the joy these two had about their wedding! This was also a very special day because we were with a former Amy-Cole bride and friends!  It was one of those wedding days where everything feels calm and right!

Alicia was stunning!  I say that all of the time, but I'm not sure I've ever met a bride who wasn't!  I just adore seeing the gown they have chosen for their special day and this friend did not disappoint with her choice!!!  Derrick was so dapper in his dark charcoal suit with navy!  A charcoal suit on a groom is in my top two favs!

Before this gorgeous moment, Alicia had rode in with her Dad on a horse and carriage!  I mean, is that not what fairytales are made of?!  The day was as special and beautiful as these two!  We sure do love you, Mr. and Mrs. Webb!!!

LeAnn + Dale - 05.13.17

Y'all, this was such a fun and relaxing wedding day!  LeAnn is such a dear, photographer friend!  When she asked me to capture her wedding day to Dale I was pure giddy!  Look at the details from this day!

LeAnn included Denver, her sweet girl, in the whole aspect of the wedding day to Dale!  I adore that she was by her Mommy's side the whole time!

Can we just pause for a minute?!  Are they not the most precious family you've ever witnessed on photograph?!  Look at this magic!!!!

And look at these sweet babies!!! Mom and Dad made sure the day was also about them!

Dale is Denver's new step-dad, but you knew he would love her just as his own.  Dale is a one-of-a-kind guy.  Since LeAnn and I are dear friends, I know them both personally and have shot at their Alexandria, Alabama home some.  He always checks on me and makes sure I have water if it's hot!  He takes care of everyone around him just the same!

Their day was something special!  They had all of their friends and family beside them!  Even Chief was right in the middle of the action!  I mean, y'all!!!!!!  Look at that sweet pup!

We sure do love you, Mr. and Mrs. Findley!  I am so glad I got to capture your day!  I'm also glad I get to call you friends!

Cat + Nick - 05.20.17

Cat's dress and veil was one for the books!  She was a fairy-tale princess and he is just madly in love with her and that makes me so happy!  This romantic day was a favorite of my year!  I loved all of the details and the precious moments!  But, my favorite part of this day was Cat and Nick!  They've become such dear friends and I absolutely adore both of them and their families!!!

It was a rainy day in Gadsden on May 20, but that didn't stop these two love birds from enjoying each moment!  I also love having a wedding day with Craig Carlisle (the minister) any chance we get! There are so many things about their day I wish I could share with you!  The stunning cake and macarons (homemade with love by the bride and her sweet mom) were my most favorite!!!  I may have ate 5 of those macarons at the reception!  Ha!

These two left to everyone cheering as they escaped for a two week getaway, overseas!  I wanted to go with them!  We sure do love you, Mr. and Mrs. Mueller!!!

Bailey + Jordan - 06.03.17

This wedding day was just amazing and so precious!  These two, young love birds could not wait to get married and spend their life together!  And y'all, are they not gorgeous?  I absolutely loved their Gadsden wedding and every moment we spent together!  The details were perfection and exactly what Bailey wanted.  Her groom was so handsome in his navy tux with red tie!  I loved the pink and red details and these two photogenic people didn't hurt!

We sure do love you, Bailey and Jordan!  Congrats again on being Mr. and Mrs. Jackson!

Taylor + Jesse - 06.10.2017

Berry College is probably my most favorite place on earth!  When you grow up in Rome, Georgia, you learn all about the history of this amazing campus and all that Martha Berry did for her family and community.  I grew up having picnics on the grounds.  So, when a bride calls me and tells me she wants me to capture her day there...I GO CRAZY!  Taylor and Jesse were the perfect couple for a wedding day at Berry!  They are gorgeous and the details of their day were amazing!

I still can't get over the gold-sequined gowns from this wedding day!  Prepare yourself, you'll see them again in another wedding later in the fall!  I may have jumped up and down when I first saw them!  Those gowns sparkle as much as the love these two have for one another!

It was one of my most talked about wedding days of the year!  You mix a gorgeous venue with a gorgeous couple and you just can't go wrong!  We sure do love you, Mr. and Mrs. Chandler!

Jade + Hunter (aka HAP) - 06.17.17

We are half way there!  If you are anything like me, you love looking at different styles of wedding days and this one did not disappoint.  It was a hot, summer day, but this couple and their wedding party showed off!  They are gorgeous and so kind!  We absolutely loved the Fort Payne wedding day of Jade and HAP!

I told ya!  Those colors with the gowns and light gray suits!  I was so giddy for these two!  They are so in love and their friends were so happy for them!  We enjoyed getting to know these guys and can't wait to be friends with them for years to come!

We love you, Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins!!!

Shelby + Chase - 07.15.17

Shelby and Chase came to us from one of our most favorite floral designers, Kathryn Anne Weddings.  We adore Kathy Bowen and we were so grateful that she referred us to this fun bride and groom!  They had a stunning day in Anniston, Alabama!  I loved that they kept with a formal, traditional flare and had so many friends and family by their side as they said "I do"!  It will be a wedding day I cherish in my memories for many years to come!  Elegant and stunning!!!

My favorite part about these two...they live close to my new town and I hope to meet up for dinner with them in the new year!  We sure did have a ton of fun with you guys!  We love you, Mr. and Mrs. Jones!

Stephanie + Jeremy - 07.29.17

Stephanie and Jeremy mean so much to me!  I remember getting a call shortly after they got engaged.  They were so excited to book me for this very special day and I was so excited to have them in our ACP club!  Otter Creek was opening for wedding days and their day was the first wedding they would host at their venue!  I was thrilled, but more than anything I couldn't wait to spend the day with these two!  They have been cherished friends for many years and I get emotional when I think back on their day!

It was no secret at the time of their wedding that this would be a hard day for me.  My family was set to move the very next day after their wedding, but these two were so encouraging to me and loved me well during the time that was most hectic for them.  Many phone calls of love and support for me and my family were just what was needed to make it through that hectic time and their special day!  I love them!  I cherish their friendship and understanding during that season!  And just now, as I type this, they have been published in the most recent edition of Alabama Weddings Magazine!  A well deserved feature for these two!  I am honored to be included! Make sure to get a copy on newsstands!

I wish I could tell you all the ways I love these two!  I'll just say I enjoyed every minute of their day and I love that I count these two as friends for life!  We sure do love you, Mr. and Mrs. Moore!!!

Marlena + Jason - 09.16.17

It never fails that every year I get a call from a bride and her wedding day is soon!  I love these brides!  They make quick decisions and have to trust their gut!  When they decide to trust me in that quick moment it overwhelms my heart!  Marlena was that bride for me and we now have such a sweet friendship!  She not only trusted me as an Alabama wedding photographer, but she also trusted me after I told her my family would be moving to Atlanta!  Their wedding day was my first after the move and I loved that we got to capture her first!  Her day was special and so sweet!  I adore this couple and love that I got to capture every moment of it for her!

These two are madly in love and I am grateful I got to spend their day with them!  We love you, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor!

Chelsea + Scottie - 09.23.17

When I was a little girl, I was obsessed with sunflowers!  When a bride and groom use sunflowers on their wedding day...especially their fall wedding day, my heart goes back to those days as a little girl!

I will never forget meeting Chelsea and Scottie for the first time.  We stood in my yard in South Hawk and talked for an hour!  I loved their sweet spirit from the moment I met them!  Not only are they kind and real, they are two of the sweetest people you'll ever meet!  I love how much Scottie loves and protects Chelsea. I love that Chelsea adores Scottie!  I adore these two and their heart for one another!  Enjoy a scroll back through their sweet day!

We sure do love you, Mr. and Mrs. Humphrey!!!

Breanna + Devon - 10.14.17

Breanna and Devon are such a precious couple!  Theydated for many years and so this day was a much anticipated day for many in their family! I loved spending each moment with them!  Their fall wedding was amazing and so gorgeous!  I love that Breanna had her day centered around fall colors and a beautiful, outdoor venue!  My favorite part of the evening was my time with just the two of them!  Their love for each other is evident in their words and actions and their family was so happy to celebrate them on their special day!

We sure do love you, Mr. and Mrs. Mason!

Krista + Judd - 10.21.17

Krista and Judd are two of my favorite people!  They are so relaxed and fun to be around!  Krista told me upfront that Justin (nicknamed Judd) isn't big on smiling for the camera!  I'm pretty sure my silly personality won him over though.  We had so much fun on their wedding day!  And...I may have wanted to steal Krista's gown.  I loved it so much!!!  No worries, she knows! I could photograph it over and over again!!!

Enjoy a scroll back through their day!  I sure do love these two!

(Don't miss the gold-sequined dresses making an appearance again!!!)

We sure do love you, Mr. and Mrs. Fugatt!!!

Hannah + Matthew - 10.28.17

Hannah has been a close family friend for over seven years!  We love her and cherish her precious family!  When Hannah got engaged and called it was such a happy day!  We have prayed for Hannah and Matthew since they started dating and couldn't be more happy for them!  It was such a joy to watch them as they start their lives together, but even more so...I was honored to capture their special day!  We had so much fun together!  This day was full of joy and happiness from everyone!  We absolutely adore these two!!!

I live for wedding cake, but my favorite detail is usually the florals!  I love watching each bride's dream come alive through the flowers of the day!  It's usually the piece that ties it all together!  Hannah's wedding florals were stunning and some of my favorites of the year!  Alabama Eden Flowers did an amazing job!!!

We sure do love these two and their family!  Congrats again, Mr. and Mrs. Mabrey!

Nancy + Chris - 11.11.17

A wedding day is always special to me! Always!  However, there is something so special about going back home, to Rome and our very first full-time ministry church, that makes it that much more special!  Nancy was in our choir when we served at West Rome.  To go back and capture her stunning day meant the world to me!  We love spending time with Nancy and Chris and each moment was such a gift for these two!  Smiles and laughter were in the air all day long and it was amazing to see old friends we've missed and cherished for years!  We adore these two!

We love these two so much!!!  Congrats again, newlyweds!  Watch out world, Mr. and Mrs. Lake coming at you!

Brianne + TJ - 12.09.17

Our year started just as it ended!  A snow-covered day fit for the perfect bride and groom! You don't anticipate a snow day when you live in the south.  Georgia very rarely sees snow. So, when it started to snow the day before their wedding day...their winter wonderland wedding day (as planned by the bride, in the heat of summer), it was a shock to us all.

Bri and I met in Starbucks, mid-summer, when my family was in the middle of a difficult season.  She encouraged me so much on that day!  We talked for an hour before we realized how long we had been sitting there.  She has been that constant encouragement for me since that day.  This couple was also full of joy on their wedding day.  The world could have fallen apart...the cake almost didn't make it, they didn't get to have a rehearsal because of the ice and snow, the power went off, and not once did I hear them complain. In fact, it was quite the opposite.  They were happy and full of joy!  I love a couple that understands it doesn't matter what happens on the wedding day as long as you're married at the end of the day. That's really all that matters!  This couple took that to heart!

But...the cake did show up!  The venue worked hard and regained power to the reception! The caterers made it! And, well, that snow and ice made for the most memorable day anyone, including me, could ask for!  We were frozen, but I couldn't have asked for more!

If you know me, you know an Auburn groom (couple) will always be close to my heart!  These two sit at the very top! I mean, is this Auburn grad not a cutie?!

I can't help it!  The snowy wedding day portraits are some of my favorites!  I think it is so very special since Bri planned her day to be a winter wonderland theme and then God gave us this beautiful snowy day!!!

This is where I stop and give huge props to Josh Sullins for being the most committed second shooter ever!  He stood under that tree and shook the tree (as I sang "Shake the Sugar Tree" and told my old age) to give us this gorgeous snow fall!!!

Just a little pause to show there is proof those cakes made it!  And boy are we glad they did!  They were stunning!!!

One last walk in the gorgeous snow and a big War Eagle leave was all these two needed to make this day complete!  This will go down in the record book!  Eight hours in the snow with one incredible couple...I couldn't ask for more to end this year!  It was the cake topper on the yummy wedding cake!

We absolutely adore and love you, Bri and TJ!  We will be friends for many, many years to come!!!

And just like that...

our year in Amy-Cole Wedding Couples!  Our year in selfies looked a little something like this! We called it the year of cake!  It was a wild ride and I am so grateful for Josh, Adam, and Robyn! They've supported me well this year and I couldn't ask for more!

And now...drum roll please!

As most of you know, Robyn has decided to step away from wedding days with ACP.  She has been an amazing asset to me personally and professionally.  Robyn is an incredible kindergarten teacher, mom, and wife!  I am excited that she will have more time with the people she loves and I will miss her sharing these moments with me.  I know my Amy-Cole couples cherish her as much as I have.

So now...

Josh, my cute man, has second shot with me for 7 years.  He has been my right hand in business and, of course, co-owner in Amy-Cole Photography since the first day.  He is my biggest cheerleader and greatest support, he is also my very best friend! When Robyn stepped away, there was no question who would be my right hand on wedding days.  I am thankful he loves photography and is a creative spirit right beside me.  He has shot many times with me even this year and I am thrilled that we will be re-inventing Amy-Cole Weddings in 2018 to be a husband and wife team.  Big days are ahead and I cannot wait to share everything that will happen because he is with me on wedding days.

Watch for our new website coming in early to mid-February!  We hope to give you a little more insight to the crazy personalities behind the business and watch for new husband and wife headshots coming soon!

Now...for the whole reason you scrolled down here...

The 2018 (and from this point forward) selfie will be...

We tried it out with Bri and TJ so we could show you a little sneak...

We can't wait to capture our day with each bride and groom in 2018 and beyond!!!  Get ready!  This year is going to be epic and I can't wait!!!

So, from me to you, Happy New Year!  Thank you for taking this journey through 2017 with us!  Keep your eye out for the new selfies and a brand new website (and video) coming soon!!!

Much love!

Our Year in Review

Weddings of 2016

This year was one of the best ever at Amy-Cole.  We had an amazing time with our brides and grooms and had lots of new adventures along the way.  I loved looking back as I picked my favorite portraits from each session.  Enjoy this look back through our 2016!

We loved our day with Matthew and Loren!  Their wedding day was on the golf courses of Robert Trent Jones, Silver Lakes. They were so fun and loved doing some fun shots with us through the day.  They were married at sunset in a beautiful area off of the lake at the courses.  We love Matthew and Loren and can't wait for 2017 as they are expecting their sweet baby boy, Charlie Wayne!

Kelsi and Jake's SouthWind Plantation wedding day was a dream!  We adore Sunday weddings and the Ford wedding did not disappoint. I loved all of the colors and flowers from their beautiful day and we've enjoyed a sweet friendship with this couple!  You can tell they love being married and having new adventures.

Kandice and Brian had a gorgeous May wedding day at Cove Acre Farms.  Rebecca Williamson, their wedding planner, had all of the right glam in the right spots.  Not only was the day gorgeous, Kandice and her girls were absolutely stunning!  We had a lot of laughter and jokes from their day and it was evident these two fell head over heels in love!  We enjoyed our day with them so much!

Jessica and Cody became two of my favorite people very quickly.  I will never forget getting the phone call from Jessica two weeks prior to her wedding day.  Her first question was, "Are you booked for May 14?".  My response was immediately no.  I knew I had sent out several contracts for that day and when nothing ever happened, I shut the date off and decide to relax with my family for that weekend.  Looking back, it was all a God thing.  Jessica and Cody had their wedding photographer cancel on them last minute.  We immediately jumped into action and got everything ready to capture their special day!  I am so thankful that God allowed my path to cross with them.  They are so kind and genuine.  I'm happy to have them in the ACP wedding family!  After their wedding ceremony and reception at 12th Street Baptist, we ventured to their family land and had such a fun time capturing their wedding photographs!

We call these two Ken and Barbie!  Josh and Amberly had an amazing day at Southwind Plantation!  Not only was it a romantic and joyful day with their family and friends, my sweet Daddy married them.  It was a weekend I really needed my Daddy close by and God is just amazing at how he orchestrated their wedding day for the day I needed it most!  Amberly was a dream.  She was so kind and sweet through all of the planning and events.  We couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous, sun-lit day. And our groom, Josh, well he's super fun!  We enjoy any day we get to photograph at Southwind, but their day was extra special for all!

Ministry friends are the best friends!  We serve on different church staffs in our area, but God has totally aligned our friendship with this special couple. Tyler and Ryann sat in my living room shortly after getting engaged and I knew I wanted to spend every moment that I could with them.  They are not only lovers of Jesus Christ, they are kind and...hilarious!  We still have weekly snapchat conversations and that makes my heart so happy!  If you know anything about church ministry, you know it can be lonely and hard at times.  These two make ministry fun and exciting!  I love them and I look forward to being ministry friends for many years to come!  Their beautiful day with captured at Cornerstone Church and their reception was held at Gadsden Country Club!

You probably wouldn't believe this, even if I told you. The wedding above, we captured that wedding on the same day as we co-captured the wedding day of Caroline and Austin (pictured here).  I'll make the story quick.  Ryann and Tyler booked me about a month before Austin contacted me to capture his proposal to Caroline.  Caroline has been a part of our family since we moved to Alabama.  We adore her!  We have prayed for her and with her!  She is the most kind and gentle person I've ever known.  Not only that, she loves Jesus and believes in Him with everything in her. She is an example to young girls all over.  I knew after the proposal I HAD to be part of their day.  They quickly asked for me to capture their day and I was obviously already committed to my precious Ryann and Tyler.  After talking it over with everyone involved, we decided that I could shoot both as long as we had an additional photographer.  I chatted with another local photographer and she agreed that we could co-shoot Caroline's wedding day.  Since I use Robyn as my second shooter for all wedding days, I hired an additional second shooter for my wedding with Ryann and Tyler and released Robyn once the ceremony started.  Robyn captured most of the formal shots from their day.  Have I mentioned how invaluable a second shooter is?  Especially when it's Robyn! She left and headed to Caroline and Austin's day and then I followed after Ryann and Tyler's leave.  Was it ideal? No.  Am I glad that God decided that these two couples chose the same day? Yes!  He knew they would be ok with the happenings of the day and that everything would be just fine!  Oh, did I forget to mention that my husband and I sang for Caroline's ceremony before she walked down the aisle?!  I could relive that day over and over.  Watching two youth pastors marry the loves of their lives on that exact same day...and I got to be there to capture both!  It was a dream!  I was exhausted (and had another wedding the next day), but I adore the memories these two couples gave me. I'll cherish them in my heart forever!  Caroline and Austin were married at Caroline's parent's farm, Bowlin Farm.

After a hectic Saturday, we needed a beautiful day at Southwind Plantation!  We love Sunday weddings and this one did not disappoint.  Megan and Seth are madly and deeply in love!  It was evident from the moment we met them.  Seth had just graduated the week before from West Point and Megan was thrilled to finally be marrying the love she had been separated from for a while.  Watching their day unfold was magical and so much fun!  I don't know many Southwind wedding days that aren't!

It was our first time at Bell House Bed and Breakfast and it did not disappoint!  Amber and Hunter are such a fun couple. Most of their formal shots were captured in between much laughter!  I will never forget the email from Tammy, Amber's mother, shortly after she got engaged.  She quickly stated that after looking over my information she knew I was the one for them.  I knew in that moment, they were the ones for me.  I pray for these moments each year.  Most of my brides and grooms (and their families) become clients and friends for life.  I have no doubts this will be a lifelong friendship!

It was our fourth time at First Methodist Anniston and this church never disappoints.  And you know it's going to be a fantastic couple when a dear friend and wedding vendor refers you to the happy couple. Rachel and MK's day was just amazing.  I'm not sure we've ever had a more down to earth and precious couple. They weren't crazy about the spotlight.  They much preferred to be laughing and enjoying their family and friends.  However, their love for each was so genuine and unique.  I loved how comfortable she became once MK first saw her.  It was as if everything fell right into place!  This couple will be in my memory for many years to come!

I can't tell you how many times I've been asked if I photographed every youth pastor in our area this year!  The funny thing is, I am pretty sure I have!  Jacie and Lance are also youth pastors in our area and the very best friends of Ryann and Tyler (above).  Do you even know how fun it is to shoot one best friend in June and the other in July!  Like, it was completely amazing!  We are all like one big, happy family anyway!  This just made it even sweeter!  Lance and Jacie were married at White Springs Baptist and their days was a hot one!  Around 105 degrees to be exact!  However, it was also one of the sweetest days.  I'll never forget the moment they were hidden eating their meal and he scooped her out of her chair to have a dance with her!  Tears, tears, tears!  We love these two!

We book most of our weddings days 8-12 months in advance, if not longer.  So, after Caroline and Austin's wedding day (above), Linsey called!  She had been a bridesmaid in Caroline's wedding and we hit it off!  She had already booked a photographer, but after chatting with her she decided she'd like two!  She asked if I would do the formal wedding photography and asked A. Jill Photo if she would do a photo journalistic style of the wedding day.  After chatting with Jill, I knew we could totally pull this off...and we did!  It was such a fun day together at The Barn at Shady Lane!  It was our first day with Michael and Lynda, but goodness...what a dream location!  We hope to be back there many times to come!  And, Linsey and AJ...they are not only beautiful, but they are sweet friends since that day!  We can't wait to see all that life has to hold for them!  AJ is now in school to be a chiropractor and so many new adventures await these two!

Kendall and Colby are two of the nicest people you will ever meet!  From the first moment I met them at their engagement shoot, I knew their wedding was going to be super fun!  It was our first time visiting The West Grove.  The land and area is beautiful and has gorgeous sunlight.  I loved how their families were there to support them through the whole day!  I also love that the groomsmen kept me updated on all of the football scores.  I am a huge college football fan and I MUST have score updates on wedding days...just ask Robyn!  Their day was perfect just like the two of them!  And Kendall was a dream in her gown!  We loved our day with them!

Oh, Jeannette and Bryan!  I love these two a whole lot!  Number one, they love Jesus more than anything!  That made their day full of love and laughter!  Number two, I got to shoot this day with my husband.  He second shoots with me on occasion.  Unfortunately, Robyn's family was sick this weekend and so my cute man jumped in to help me capture their day.  They were married at the General Wood's Inn and we absolutely loved our day at this venue.  They know how to do it right! They served the bride and groom at every turn and the venue is gorgeous!  It was a perfect fit for this beautiful bride and groom!

Before we even start talking about this gorgeous couple, let me award Chastin with the best veil award!  I mean, seriously!!!  She was stunning and Brennan was smitten!  These two captured my heart quickly over the past year.  They're full of laughter always!  And let me tell you, when the couple is full of laughter...the photogs are too!  I mean, aren't they perfect?!  We loved our day with these two at the Lazy G (and I mean, what a venue name. Is that not the cutest?).

We had so much fun getting to know Haley and Logan over this past year and they're day was perfect for them.  Southern Psalms was the perfect setting for their barn wedding day!  Gorgeous skies, a beautiful cotton field, and two people who are madly in love!  These two have a beautiful love story and have been together since their school years!  I just love that about them!  All of that time, and they're still together!

Do you ever look at a couple and say, "Well aren't they dreamy?". Yep, me too!  These two are that couple!  We met Alex through a bride from 2015.  I couldn't be more thankful.  She was the calmest bride ever.  She knew it was her day and she was determined to soak in every last moment!  I adore her for that!  And Drew, he is a fun and classy dude!  Their day at Meadow Creek Farms was perfect!  We loved every moment of being with them!

Oh, young love!  These two are close to the same age my husband and I were when we married!  I fell in love with them. They are so sweet and so in love!  They had such a sweet and intimate wedding at Riverview Baptist.  After their ceremony and reception, they drove from Alabama to California were Ryan is now stationed.  I can't imagine being that age and in a new place. They seem to be enjoying every new adventure life is handing them!  We adore you, Ryan and Rachael!

Another day at Southwind was just what we needed the day before my family jetted off to a Disney World vacation!  This day was the most fun ever!  First off, Niki and Josh are hilarious!  Like, they are so much fun to be around.  They love each other completely and that love is shared with everyone in their presence.  Robyn had already made her way to Disney and so Adam (aka Uncle Adam to my kids) was second shooting with me.  We not only had a blast together, but add in Jason and LeeAnn from Vital Productions and it was a dream team.  We also had a little fun doing the mannequin challenge with their wedding party!  This was the perfect fall day with the perfect couple!

And here we are...our last wedding of 2016 was in our town of Gadsden at the First Methodist Church and J&D Farms.  Let me set the scene!  Sally grew up here in our little town, but she and Roman live in New Jersey!  I'm not sure if you know this, but those two locations are drastically different.  Ha!  They met doing theatre (I mean...this is my dream!) and fell in love!  They were engaged at Disney World (also another dream) and had small things to throw back to their Disney love inside their wedding details.  Their day was also the day of the SEC Championship game.  If you don't live in Alabama, you don't really understand how that works around here.  Many people kept everyone up to date on scores. We even had a score card located in the back of the ceremony.  I mean, you gotta know the score.  We adore these two!  They're like family now!  Their wedding day was practically perfect in every way...just like the two of them!

And lastly, our selfies from each wedding day!  Robyn and I (Josh and Adam, too), take a selfie on each wedding day with something from the details.  In 2016, our selfies were with the brides bouquet!  I know there are many photographers that shoot alone and they love that!  I couldn't do it without Robyn!  She is my right hand and very best friend!  I find myself looking forward to each time we get to shoot together.  She is so talented and is such a gift to each bride and groom she photographs.  She is always behind the scenes, but she is definitely the most valuable to me.

2017, get ready!  You have a whole lot to live up to!
